Information we collect

Account information

• Email address; name (first/last); optionally username and phone if you provide it.
• Authentication via Firebase (email/password or Google Sign-In). We receive basic profile info from your chosen auth provider.

Billing and purchases on the website

• Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not store full card numbers or CVV on our servers. Paddle stores and protects payment data. We receive non-sensitive transaction details needed to fulfill your order (for example, order ID, status, and amount).

App usage

• Minutes balance and lease usage (how many minutes you have and consume).
• Limited diagnostics (for example, errors and timestamps) to keep the Service reliable.

Audio and real-time processing in the app

• Audio is streamed to our realtime AI provider only to provide live translation. We do not persist audio or transcripts on our servers unless you explicitly enable a feature that stores it. Ephemeral tokens are used to start realtime sessions.

Logs and device data

• IP address, device/OS details, and basic event logs for security and performance. On the website we may set cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences.

How we use your information

• Provide and improve the Service (authentication, translations, minutes tracking).
• Process purchases and manage your minutes balance.
• Secure the Service (fraud prevention, abuse prevention, diagnostics).
• Communicate with you (account, security, and service updates).

Cookies and similar technologies

• Website cookies are used for sign-in (Firebase), preferences, and basic analytics.
• You can control cookies in your browser. Some features may require cookies to function.

Payments

• We use Paddle to process payments. Paddle’s own privacy and compliance standards apply to your payment data. We receive only the information needed to confirm your purchase and credit your account with minutes.
• We do not store full card details on our servers.

Sharing your information

Service providers:

• Firebase (Google) for authentication and basic hosting.
• Paddle for payments.
• The realtime AI provider receives audio streams only during an active session. Audio is not stored by us unless you enable a storage feature.
• Legal or safety requests, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of users and the Service.

We do not sell your personal data.

Data retention

• Account data is kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
• Purchase records are retained as required for accounting, tax, and fraud prevention.
• Logs are retained for a limited period for security and reliability.
• Audio and transcripts are not stored by us unless you enable a feature that saves them. Otherwise they are processed in real time and discarded.

Your rights

• Access, correction, deletion: contact us to request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data, subject to lawful retention requirements.
• You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
• You can delete your account. We will remove associated personal data that we are not required to retain for legal purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices, encryption in transit, and role-based access. No system is 100% secure. We continuously improve safeguards.

International data transfers

Our infrastructure (Google Cloud) and providers may process data in multiple regions. We rely on standard safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). Do not use the Service if you do not meet the minimum age requirement.

We may update this policy. We’ll post the latest version on this page with the effective date above.

Additional notes (app + website)

Managing your account and billing is available on our website. The app provides login and usage only. Purchases and billing updates are performed on the site and reflected in the app as your minutes balance.

Authorized domains for sign-in include sweetlytranslate.com and our API domains. This keeps sign-in secure from both the app and the website.
